The Jordan Film Fund (JFF)

About JFF:

The Jordan Film Fund (JFF) is a Jordanian financial scheme founded and financed by The Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC) in 2011. The JFF is dedicated to funding cinematic projects and films further to empower local and Arab filmmakers.

An annual call for applications, usually launched in spring, offers producers the opportunity to submit their projects for JFF support. For Jordanian feature narrative and documentary projects, JFF support includes the development, production, post-production, and marketing & distribution phases. JFF supports Arab cinematic feature narrative projects in the co-production category, promoting regional collaboration. Additionally, support is offered to the production of Jordanian short films in different categories, including narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation.

At the heart of the JFF’s vision lies a strong commitment to the Jordanian narrative. The Fund also supports and encourages projects that reflect local stories, perspectives, and cultural contexts, while also actively promoting films created for children.

Timeline:

The call for applications for JFF's 11th cycle closed on Tuesday, 5th May 2026 at midnight (Jordan Time).

The jury's decision will be announced in October 2026.

The timeline for the 12th JFF cycle will be announced in Spring 2027.

Main eligibility criteria for all categories:

1. Core Team Age: Producers, directors, and writers must be 18 years or above.
2. Core Team Nationality: Jordanians are eligible to apply, as well as Arab nationals who have resided in Jordan for at least five years (specific criteria apply for the co-production category). 
3. Co-Production Category Eligibility: 
   - Only Feature Narrative is eligible. 
   - Producer must be eligible (Jordanians and Arab nationals who have resided in Jordan for at least five years).
   - Director must be an Arab obtaining an Arab nationality.
   - At least 50% of production must be in Jordan. 
4. In all categories, only an eligible Producer can apply. 
5. The Application Form must be submitted online only.
6. Eligible Projects Length:
   - Feature-length narrative: 70 minutes and above.
   - Feature-length documentary: 60 minutes and above.
   - Short narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation: 5-25 minutes.
7. Project Language: At least 60% of all dialogue, narration, voiceover, and communication within the project must be in Arabic.
8. Shooting Locations: Refer to the relevant file related to each category.

Applications to The Jordan Film Fund are evaluated through a transparent, multi-stage process designed to ensure fairness, objectivity, and equal opportunity for all filmmakers. Projects are assessed by independent industry professionals based on their creative merit and production capacity.
