An authorized submitter or authorized representative of a film that was not selected as Jordan’s official submission may submit a written procedural review request according to the process below.
|
This process does not constitute an appeal of the Selection Committee’s artistic decision. |
Deadline
The procedural review request must be submitted within five working days in Jordan from the date of RFC’s official announcement of the selection outcome.
The selection outcome means either the announcement of Jordan’s selected film or the announcement that no film will be submitted.
Requests received after the deadline may not be considered.
How to Submit a Request
The procedural review request must be submitted in writing to:
The request should include:
• the film title and Submission ID, where available;
• the name and capacity of the person submitting the request;
• confirmation that the person is the authorized submitter or authorized representative;
• a clear description of the procedural concern;
• the relevant dates and circumstances; and
• any supporting information or documents.
RFC may request clarification or additional procedural information where necessary.
Scope of Procedural Review
A procedural review request may concern:
• an administrative error;
• a technical or access failure;
• deadline handling;
• inconsistent application of the published procedure; or
• unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or handling of submitted information or materials.
The process is limited to whether the published administrative and procedural requirements were followed.
Matters Outside the Process
The Procedural Review Process does not review or reconsider:
• artistic judgment;
• the artistic merits of a film;
• Selection Committee discussions or deliberations;
• individual committee members’ views;
• voting;
• comparative assessment; or
• the final artistic selection.
The process cannot be used to reopen, replace, or challenge the Selection Committee’s independent artistic decision.
The Academy retains final authority over Academy eligibility, acceptance, and interpretation of its rules.
Independent Procedural Review
RFC will assign an appropriate procedural reviewer who was not responsible for the disputed action.
Where necessary, the reviewer may request relevant procedural information from the Chairperson, an alternate internal reviewer, the Managing Director, or the Academy.
Confidential artistic deliberations will not be reviewed or disclosed.
The reviewer will consider only the information necessary to assess the procedural concern.
Written Response
RFC will issue a written procedural response to the person who submitted the request.
The response will address the procedural concern without disclosing confidential Selection Committee discussions, individual views, voting details, conflict-of-interest records, restricted access information, or protected film materials.
RFC’s written response is final within this Procedural Review Process.
Confidentiality
Procedural review requests and supporting materials will be handled confidentially and shared only with persons who require access to assess or respond to the concern.
Selection Committee deliberations, individual views, voting, submitted film materials, conflict-of-interest information, and restricted access information remain confidential.
